Get Water Skiing Tubes

If you are new to water sports, the best place for you to start would be at the water ski tubes. Riding on a water ski tube will give you the thrill and experience of skiing over the waters at high speed in the security of a raft. This ride is ideal for beginners and novices to get a feel of the adventure water sports before coaxing them into higher skilled water rides like skiing, wake boarding and surfing. Water ski tubes is one of the important part of the water skiing equipment.

Like the traditional water rings, water tubes are air inflatable tubes. Today these popular water ski tubes are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. A water tube ride follows the same basic principle of water skiing and wake boarding i.e.it is tied to the rear of a boat and is towed at high speed boat all across the waters.

Unlike any other sports ride, you do not need to have a special coaching for attempting these rides. Water skiing tubes are available in different sizes, shapes and colors. The larger sized tubes allow more number of people in a single ride and have room for up to 8 people in a single ride. As such unlike the other rides, a group of friends or a family can have the pleasure of riding together in a single tube. As long as it comfortably seats the number of people on a single trip and provides handles for all the companions, this is an ideal group water ride. If you prefer to go at it in a single tube, you can still enjoy the company of your friends in the other tubes by being towed together by a common boat.

Though it seems more stable than the other rides, there are chances of falling off these tubes as well – especially when rounding sharper curves. There is no technique or skill to learn to hang on to these tubes except the cardinal rule of grabbing it tight and not letting go.

For the more adventurous riders, the water tubes can be made to jump on wakes as well. Water tubes are also designed to go airborne as well for a short while during a high speed ride. One of the simple tricks most beginners can try is the barrel roll. During a barrel roll, the water ski tube does a complete roll in the water with you in it submerging you for a few seconds before you come up again. There are many other tricks that will take some time and practice to master. Always remember during these rides to adhere to the basic safety policies to ensure a safe and fun ride.

Getting up On A Wakeboard

Wakeboarding is a popular water sport. Do not be in a hurry to get up. If the movement is hurried, it will result in failure. Patience is the key with the timing being right as one learns wakeboarding. Therefore, new wakeboarding enthusiasts should read the few pointers below. When one begins, it is important that they make sure their feet are tightly secured to the wakeboard. Then they must take the handle of the rope. You are just holding it in your hands to be connected to the boat.

Your initial position before the boat starts moving – This is the first and most important step when one starts to learn. At this point the wakeboard’s position is parallel to the rear of the boat. Your feet are in the upward direction while the wakeboard is just at the edge of the water.

Till the boat begins to pull you, the only part of your body that is connected to the wakeboard will be your feet As the boat begins moving, allow the boat to carry you over the waters. This means that till the boat begins movement, the wakeboard is the only solid contact you have. When the speed boat begins to move, let the motion of the boat pull up out of the water and onto the wakeboard. Once you are comfortable with the movement, gently rise up. Do not resist the pull of the handle or be over eager in your response to the tug of the rope. It is imperative that you rise without loosening or increasing the tension of the rope.

When you rise make sure that you are able to turn your hip in a manner which will cause the wakeboard to get into a straight line, directly in sync with the boat than its earlier position. And maintain your hold over the rope handle. In this stance you have one foot in front of the other. Most of your body weight is on the back foot while the wakeboard’s front portion is at an angle on the waters.

As the boat gathers speed, stay calm and do not shift from your position as this will cause you to lose balance and fall into the water.
